Track & Field 2015

Our goal is to introduce and develop the sport of track and field to boys and girls from the age of 8 years old to 18 years old in the Concord area. We will work hard to develop speed, explosive power and endurance. This will allow the athletes to become more efficient at running and more powerful at jumping and throwing. The skills taught in practice will enhance their overall athletic performance that can carry over to other sports or develop a new passion for track and field. All levels of athletic ability are welcome.

Athletes will compete in up to four events at a meet. The events that an athlete will compete in will be determined by which activities they will be most successful in. There are two types of meets in we will compete in. There are Developmental meets and Invitational/Qualifying meets. Developmental meets may be sanctioned under USATF or AAU. Qualifying meets are events where the top athletes in each event are allowed the right to represent their district or region. The top regional qualifiers will be allowed to compete at the Jr. Olympics. We have qualified numerous athletes to complete at the Junior Olympics every year since our inception in 2012.

Our season begins with conditioning Monday March 2 and we will compete through June. Athletes that qualify may compete through August. Most of our meets are in the Charlotte surrounding area.

Practices – Monday and Wednesday 6:30AM -7:45PM, Saturdays 9:30AM to 11:30AM

Meets – Saturdays and occasionally Sunday from 8:30AM to 6PM in most cases

Any questions or inquiries can be directed to the Head Coach Will Stanley at concordrockets@carolina.rr.com.
